Learning to Fly: A Guide for Honeybees is a heartwarming children’s picture book about courage, imagination, and believing in yourself.

Tiny the Honeybee lives safely in his hive, but the thought of flying feels scary. Big birds, windy days, and the wide open sky make him doubt himself. Still, Tiny knows the flowers need him—and deep down, he feels a quiet voice reminding him that he can do hard things.

Through playful rhymes, bright illustrations, and gentle humor, this story shows children that fear is a normal part of learning something new. With imagination, determination, and self-belief, Tiny discovers that even the smallest bee can do important things.

This uplifting story encourages young readers to be brave, try new things, and trust their own abilities—making it a perfect read for bedtime, classrooms, and early learning environments.

My work explores the human experience and our connection to nature by using semirealism and abstract concepts. I am particularly drawn to vibrant color, the texture of the oil paint, and how the colors blend together. I prefer to build up layers of vibrant colors to create a natural contrast. As well as, expressive brushstrokes to evoke a striking subject matter.
