Rochester, MN- October 2025- Oil Painter K. Sutton will present “Return to Nature,” A collection of new works at Live125 from October through December. This exhibition explores the artist call to step away from modern complexity and reconnect to the natural world.

“In our increasingly complex world, I wanted to create pieces that remind us of the peace found in natures simplicity.” explains Kelly. “Each painting begins with those intentionally vibrant backgrounds- bright oranges that capture natural sunlight, luminous greens the echo forest depths- then I layer bold colors to draw us in to what is essential.’

The “Return to Nature” collection features 6 NEW original paintings ranging from $500 to $3000, with unique subjects including rustic stone bridges and old worn shoes. Kelly’s technique of color first composition creates an immediate sense of natural light and energy that supports the collections’ theme of finding peace through simplicity.

My work explores the human experience and our connection to nature by using semirealism and abstract concepts. I am particularly drawn to vibrant color, the texture of the oil paint, and how the colors blend together. I prefer to build up layers of vibrant colors to create a natural contrast. As well as, expressive brushstrokes to evoke a striking subject matter.
